Current Vacancy Announcement: Driver Position

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Completed secondary education.
- License: Valid 3rd Grade Ethiopian driving license.
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with NGOs or similar organizations.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and fluency in Somali are mandatory.
- Location: Must be a resident familiar with the local community.

Core Responsibilities of the Driver Role
Vehicle Operation and Safety
The driver will be entrusted with the operation and maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. Key duties include:
- Conducting daily and weekly vehicle inspections.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and fully equipped with emergency tools, a functioning spare wheel, and an approved first aid kit.
- Safeguarding against unauthorized transport of personnel, weapons, or restricted materials.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of vehicle usage and fuel consumption.
Field Support and Logistical Assistance
- Transporting staff, supplies, and official correspondence between project sites and partner organizations.
- Assisting in coordinating field visits and supporting project officers in vehicle management tasks.
- Ensuring that all field movements are authorized, documented, and aligned with security protocols.
Communication and Reporting
- Upholding consistent radio communication between field teams and the main office.
- Promptly reporting any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the Logistics Manager.
- Preparing annual activity and incident reports to support operational transparency and accountability.
Security and Compliance
- Parking vehicles in secure and designated areas, avoiding high-risk locations.
- Ensuring that all vehicle-related documentation, including insurance, licenses, and clearance papers, is up to date and available.
