Job Summary

We are actively hiring a Senior Accountant with a proven background in financial management, budgeting, reporting, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all financial activities are aligned with national and international accounting standards, including GAAP and IPSAS.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Ethiopian and international accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial operations to ensure that the organization adheres to internal controls and donor compliance requirements.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, payroll, budget tracking, and audit preparations.

  • Ensure timely submission of all statutory financial reports, including tax filings and donor reports.
  • Support grant management, including budget proposals and financial progress reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate financial strategies to mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • Additional certification such as ACCA is considered an asset.

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a relevant role such as Senior Accountant, Finance Expert, or Accountant.
