Job Summary

The Human Resource & Operations Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing human resource strategies and streamlining operational systems at Mary Joy Ethiopia. 📚 Required Education & Experience

  • Education: University Degree in Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • 2 years for postgraduate applicants (Master’s Degree holders)

🔧 Key Duties and Responsibilities

Implementing Strategic HR Policies

We ensure all human resource operations align with organizational objectives. The successful candidate will actively implement HR policies, procedures, and protocols, fostering a productive and inclusive workplace.

Delivering Efficient HR Services

Providing consistent, timely, and confidential HR support to staff across all departments is vital. This includes handling grievances, resolving workplace conflicts, and offering guidance on employment law.

Recruitment & Talent Management

The Officer will design job descriptions, identify recruitment needs, post job announcements, manage selection processes, and oversee employee onboarding to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.

Performance Management & Employee Development

From assisting managers in setting SMART objectives to organizing appraisals, the HR Officer will champion staff performance evaluations, capacity building, career coaching, and retention strategies.

HR Policy & Compliance

Ensuring the organization's HR practices comply with Ethiopian labor laws and internal standards is non-negotiable. This includes assisting with policy updates, contract administration, compensation structures, and timely payroll processing.

Reporting & Documentation

The candidate will prepare detailed bimonthly and quarterly HR reports, support audits, and maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS system.


🏥 Operations Oversight at Mary Joy Clinics and Hospitals

A distinctive part of this role is managing daily operations at MJE’s health facilities. This includes:

  • Collaborating with medical directors and department heads
  • Monitoring resource allocation and maintenance
  • Overseeing compliance and accreditation standards
  • Leading quality improvement initiatives
  • Enhancing patient flow and ensuring non-clinical staff coordination
  • Implementing preventive maintenance SOPs
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders
